Undersheriff Brian L Snyder

Undersheriff Brian L. Snyder grew up in Burns and Bend, Oregon. He attended Troy High School in Troy Montana. Following his education, Brian became a member of the Montana National Guard. He worked on ranches and in construction as a Plumber and Union Millwright.

In 1998, Undersheriff Snyder began his law enforcement career as a Reserve Deputy with the Harney County Sheriff’s Office. Brian relocated to Irrigon, Oregon in 1999 and worked at the Umatilla Army Depot helping to build the chemical incinerator. In April of 2000, he became a Reserve Deputy for the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office. He was hired as a full time deputy in July of 2000. Since then Brian has worked as a Patrol Deputy, Narcotics Detective, child abuse/sex crime Detective, Detective Sergeant and Operations Lieutenant. Undersheriff Snyder holds multiple law enforcement and instructor certifications.

In November 2022, Sheriff John Bowles selected Brian as his Undersheriff. The Undersheriff is responsible for the management of all divisions, which include 48 staff members and a budget of 6.9 million dollars.

Undersheriff Snyder and his wife Laurie currently reside in the Irrigon area. They raised their four children in Morrow County and enjoy being a part of the community. Brian very much enjoyed coaching football and wrestling in Irrigon. You might even see him riding his motorcycle while participating in local charity events.
