Communications Deputy

One (1) Communications Deputy Position is Open for the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, located in Heppner, OR.

The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office is looking for an individual to join our Communications team. If you enjoy helping the public in their time of need and the rush of a busy shift, then this just might be the career for you!

21 years of age
Pass pre-employment background check...
Pass pre-employment drug test
Have basic computer and typing skills
Have a valid driver’s license
Must be able to work any and all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
Have a high school diploma or GED

Below is what you can expect to be doing as a 911 dispatcher:

Answer 911 and business lines; give life-saving instructions to hysterical or frantic callers. Deal with a diverse group of citizens who may be hostile. Dispatch fire, EMS and police personnel via radio. Use basic office equipment. Enter data into a computer CAD system. Enter, modify, cancel and/or clear warrants, restraining orders, stalking orders, firearms, stolen vehicles and articles into the state and national crime information systems.

Hours: Shift work with 24/7 coverage, dispatch works 4 10 hour shifts.

Pay Range: $3,014 to $4,255 per month plus shift differential. Position also has medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plan, health reimbursement plan, vacation, sick leave and union membership.
