Notice of 45-Day Comment Period and Public Hearing on County Use of Title III Funds

 

The Morrow County Board of Commissioners is opening a 45-day public comment period pursuant to Title III of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000 (Public Law 110-343 as amended by Public Law 115-141). This comment period is required before the funds can be obligated and expended.

The Board of Commissioners is considering one (1) project proposed for FY2024 that meets the eligibility requirements for the use of Title III Funds:

(1) The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office is requesting up to $101,608 for the project named “Search and Rescue Vehicle and Outfitting”. This project would reimburse the county for the cost of acquiring and outfitting a specialized vehicle to assist with search and rescue operations and other emergency response activities performed throughout the County, but primarily on federal forest land.

All comments must be in writing and submitted by 4:00 PM on May 18th, 2024, to the County Administrator’s Office located at:

The Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. At that time, the Board of Commissioners will review the applications, consider the comments received, make any adjustments deemed appropriate, and obligate the funds to the selected projects.
